A "Leapfrog Top Hospital"

Please see the attached news release issued by The Leapfrog Group naming Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH) a "Leapfrog Top Hospital" for 2007. This is the first time LVH has made the list, which includes just 41 hospitals nationwide out of 1,285 that responded to the Leapfrog Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. LVH is the only local hospital to be designated, and one of only three in Pennsylvania to make the list.

The designation is significant for patients and consumers because the hospitals included are considered by Leapfrog to offer the highest quality and patient safety through the implementation of key practices (please see Leapfrog release for details).

The Leapfrog Group represents many of the nation's largest companies and public agencies that buy health benefits for their employees. Leapfrog aims to initiate improvements in the safety, quality and affordability of health care for Americans. It was founded in 2000 by the Business Roundtable.
